The “Org NPIs” feature in the MedTrainer Credentialing system allows users to manage an organization’s National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers within the credentialing platform. It’s used to associate billing and service NPIs with business entities, link them to provider enrollments or locations, and maintain accurate, audit-ready NPI data to support credentialing, payer enrollment and regulatory compliance.

FAQs
An Org NPI is a 10-digit identifier for an organization-type healthcare provider (Entity Type 2). MedTrainer’s Org NPI catalog lets companies create and manage their organization NPIs so they can be associated with Locations, used on provider enrollment applications, and referenced by other modules (Organization Management and Credentialing).
Click New Org NPI, enter the required 10-digit Org NPI, add a description, select the applicable Locations (Admins see only locations they manage), and click Save. To edit, select the Org NPI row, click the Edit action, update the fields (the NPI must remain 10 digits), then Save.
You can assign Org NPIs from either the Locations modal (Organization Management) or the Credentialing → Locations screen. Open the location’s edit modal, choose Org NPIs from the company catalog (or click Add Org NPI if none exist), and save. Once a credentialing location has an assigned Org NPI, admins can select that NPI within a provider’s Enrollment → General information → Org NPI field; the system only shows NPIs from the provider’s configured locations.
